How a session works
- Book a slot. Sessions are available Sunday, Monday evenings, Thursday evenings, Friday mornings, and Saturday mornings. Pick what suits you and confirm your booking online.
- Turn up as you are. You don’t need to prepare anything complicated. Simple, well-fitted clothing works best. If you’re unsure, guidance is given before the session.
- Get guided through it. Sessions are allocated two hours. The actual photography is usually 30–40 minutes. The rest of the time is for conversation, adjusting, and getting settled — so you’re not rushed into anything.
- Choose what you love. You review images during the session and select the ones you want. You pay for those. That’s it. No surprises.

It’s a working studio space — not a showroom. This means it’s relaxed, practical, and set up to get results without making a production out of it.
Parking is available nearby.
If you’re coming from central Bolton, it’s around 10–15 minutes by car. From Wigan, Chorley, or Bury — typically 30–35 minutes.
There are local trains on the Manchester-Wigan-Preston-Blackpool line at Horwich Parkway & Blackrod, both within a 1.2 mile distance of the studio location.
The M61 puts the studio within easy reach from Manchester, Wigan, and Chorley.
Common questions for visiting clients
How quickly will I get my images?
You choose your images on the day, so you leave knowing exactly what you’re getting.
Final edited files are delivered shortly after the session. Generally within 48 hours
Do I need to be confident in front of a camera?
No. Most people aren’t. The session is guided throughout, so you’re never left standing there trying to work out what to do.
Once people settle into it, the right image tends to appear quickly.
How much does it cost?

+ You pay for the images you choose at the end of the session.
+ There are no set packages or upfront costs beyond the session itself.
+ The session fee* covers your time in the studio. Image pricing is explained when you book.
* if for any reason at the session you are not happy with any of the results, you are refunded your session fee, no questions asked.
Can you come to our office for a team shoot?
Yes. For groups and corporate teams, on-location shoots can be arranged.

Is the studio accessible?
There are a few steps, but other than that, the studio is a ground-floor space.
Parking directly outside BL6 Studios on Hampson Street can be unpredictable – weekend sessions are the best options.
On any given day, it could be completely empty or completely chock-a-block. There are a number of active businesses in the area, so spaces come and go throughout the day, and there are no designated parking bays for the studio.
There is always parking on nearby streets including Wright Street, Julia Street, Lord Street, Peter Martin Street, Dickinson Street and Brady Street.
You may also find spaces on Hope Street, as well as Scholes Bank, Lee Lane and Lever Park Avenue, all within a short walk of the studio.
In most cases, you will find somewhere to park nearby. It may simply involve a short walk of around 150–200 yards.
So while you might not get a space right outside the door, you will get parked. It just depends whether you want immediate access or are happy with a brief walk.
